Maritime Question:

What are the restrictions on direct equity capital investment in an Indonesian national shipping company?

Answer from Andrew I. Sriro:

The venture must take the form of an Indonesian foreign direct investment limited liability company (a "PT PMA"), the venture must own at least 1 (one) vessel of a minimum of 5,000 GT and the venture's foreign shareholders are limited to a minority equity share in the PT PMA.
